Also, I don't use higher res texture skins only because it would crash the game at some point, for example, Realms of War and I'm a big RoW player. I'm not really fond of higher res skins for certain things and have normal res textures for the rest...it would seem out of place for? me.

It will run it, but there is no noticeable difference in PSO. I have a 4890, which is decent and runs at 32xAA and 16xAF with other settings. Granted, I don't run PSO at the highest resolution (my monitor isn't big enough, I'm one resolution away), but even then, having the extra strain on my GPU from 32x and 4-8x AA and etc isn't worth a MINOR edge smoothness. You can take some pictures on your build and it would? be nice to see how it works for you.

Thats not true, it will run at what you force it at in the driver. I use nHancer which gives far more options then nVidia driver settings, not sure what card or drivers your using. I tested this last year when making my lobby texture mod with higher res textures, anything under 16x AF would clearly show loss of detail at a distance. BTW I'm not using? 8x standard AA, 8xS AA is 1x2 Supersampling + 4x Multisampling put together.

A fairly consistent run showing the retarded AI which are only good at blocking you the first lap or 2, as you can see this Arcade original of Daytona USA is running almost 100% perfect, the only issue is the car numbers on the track map which does not affect gameplay at all.

Nope there's never been? a port of the Arcade version to PC (there's a PC version of the Saturn release but that is terrible compared to this) There's a recent Arcade port for consoles but this PC emulator is more accurate as it's emulating the original.

43.07 nice timing 42's require faster 2-4 combo thru first gear change? which u can do earlier thru S bend, 2nd set is fine, 3rd requires a 1-4 change, and ur last 2-4 can be done alot ealier for higher top speed. I love this game!!! ty for posting

Yeah the physics in this sim are awesome, even for todays standards. All it needs is a more modern graphics engine and a few other things... it would great. I believe iRacing will add Offroad Racing of some sort in future which was what David Kaemmer had planned? (he's the guy who started off Papyrus)

This run is with the latest Sega Model 2 Emulator 0.7a using the standard car and alternate timing info (hold start+view while? selecting car) you see on the bottom right instead of in the middle by default with the warning signs etc. I also edited the video with fading inbetween tracks.

That's true. I haven't actually raced too much WITHOUT the? realism turned on; the few times i've tried, I can't beat the 1:47 mark. But I've done the majority of my playing with the realism on (and it does a pretty good job) and now I can nail lap after lap, my fastest ghost being a 2:02.55 and my average being 2:03. Still, those times show that the game could use a few adjustments.

Ya, the Codemasters game are pretty crap for timing and realism. But if you put Handling, Damage and Sand Traps on on V8's 3 it makes it a lot more realistic compared to the 1:43's I? was getting around there. I can only get 2:07 now. :\

I always loved how this game looked so damn good, the soft shadows were very impressive and were dynamic as well, not many games back? in the last gen days had dynamic shadows let alone soft ones, the cars just lacked real reflections, but other then that this game was jaw drooping and damn fun! We attached the MHQ to a boat and took it behind there base then built a 2nd base? behind there base and blocked the front of there base off lol. We even placed mines infront of there heavy factories eariler so when a tank would spawn they would hit mines straight away lol. It was one of the funniest CTI's I've ever had against the AI (you had to be in the game to see it all), we tried a lot of different things thoughout the game.
