yes, you can use ANY 35mm adapter.. does not have to be expensive.. as for lenses, get a prime lens like a 1:1.8 or 1:1.4 or 1:1.2 if you can afford it. any make, as long as it fits the 35mm adapter you choose.?

thanks, i used 2 rings, the 1 that i ordered with the sgblade,( 58 to 72 )? and also a 46 to 58 to go from the camera (46mm to a 58mm) i got that offf ebay for about £3 you can probably get 46mm to 72mm step up ring, but i wanted the flexibility to make it easier to unscrew the camera from the sgblade.

Does the adatper give a good shallow depth of field. Like if i zoomed in on someones face would the background be nice and blured like in movies? Also i forgot do you need a adapter to attach this lens onto the camera and does it work with the? cameras own focus wheel or do you need to do that on the lens its self?

thanks, I bought it from amazon uk, but they are available elsewhere, the battery depends on? what battery you get, but yes an hore is about right.. but that would last all day as you would not normally film for an hour straight, if you know what i mean..at any rate , other batteries are easily avilable cheap from ebay etc. check out my carbeth video its DOF is better maybe.

Brilliant footage, good sound track too! and the depth of field is fantastic. I have a few questions however, where did you find this camera in the UK?! I can't seem to find it :( and also, what's the battery like with this camera, how? much use do you get out of it before having to recharge it? Saw some bloke on youtube saying it only lasts an hour!? which took me back abit...not sure whether to believe him to be honest!

thanks pal,? I have since tried DSLR , but it was garbage campared to a DOF, as was teh Sony NEX-VG10, like DSLR, it had really bad MOIRE, and laughable rolling shutter, so I just bough a brand new SGBlade and flip etc, reallllly nice kit ! VIVA LA 35MM ADAPTER !

Nice conversation. I am actually considering a DSLR and while I can't afford the 5Dmk2 yet, I'm gearing towards a T2i and a 30mm prime lens. From my experience, I haven't had any problems using SDHC and filmmaking with DSLR. I'm just tired? of using tapes but I"m keeping my HDV cam.

I'm not keen on any camera that uses SDHC for storage - compact flash is much faster, though the 60D isn't a bad camera. To be honest I've had no problems at all with Canon's 5Dmk2 or the 7D - the? 7D kicks ass as a film making cam, and this comes from someone who's used an Ex1 and HMC151 dedicated video cams in the past.I don't understand what the limits are really apart from the fact they don't look the part, but saying that I can film in places without being noticed - unlike the Ex1

anyway, you cant be too much of a prick if you managed to go through all the hassle of getting decent footage from a DSLR...I bought a 60D had it for a few days, watched the philip bloom tutorial.etc .? umm.. what a nightmare.. man, i dont need that hassle, moire and aliasing is terrible.. it is such a limiting way to film. im going to buy the sony nex-vg10.. looks like what im after, the sgpro rig is just too heavy.

I noticed the rubbish bins have the words GLASGOW CITY which you may no as in SCOTLAND. Believe me the weather where I live which is about 2hr drive south-east in a place called Newcastle upon Tyne is very cold in the? winter, I can tell you they have colder times than us, so our squirrels here are the equivalent of being all tooled up to live in the North Pole. :)

yeh, it copys it like an mts file, but i cant do shit with that, nothing opens it.....i tried lot of players (smplayer, kmplayer, vlc..) The software has only 1 option to convert it? as mpeg!!! I found a way but its very annoying and long, i import the mts files to after effects, i put them together and export them in avi!!! But it takes a lot of time to export.

im not sure what you mean by home professional , but i recon with practice you can make fairly close to broadcast quality films..but, there is nomic input soyou have to make do with the built in dolby stereo mic, alough it is pretty good. you could always record the audio separatly of course on another device. i live in? the uk so we dont have walmart., check online ,amazon has it.

thanks wolf, My first attempts really, I have been learning all the software adobe premiere pro, after effects etc, its not the easiest to learn, but i think? worth the effort as it seems to be the industry standard, and yes, let me know when you post, i would like to see you videos :)

Nice effect - works well. Glad you've got a tripd now! LOL. Try adding a block of solid grey colour, and reducing the opacity - might have an interesting effect on the footage. Thanks? for the shout-out :o)

the sd60 has a 3.32 Megapixel sensor and the sd10 has a 1.47 Megapixel sensor, so the sd60 is better, but the sd10 has better low light capabilites as its 1 lux, wheras the sd60 is 4 lux (? the lower number the better. but there is not much in it. flip a coin to be honest

You seem be knowledgable about green screens, If my green screen doesn't show a uniform/ various shades of green, is there any software I can use to make all the? green shades united so that when I chroma key, my hair and other dark spots don't dissapear ? Awesome vid btw :)

the green scene image is pre keyed footage, i can change all attributes including the brightness etc in adobe after effects, ( wich is where i impose it? on to the original footage) theni transfer it into adobe premiere for fina ledit.

Video copilot City Scene in quick time

Video copilots andrew kramer action essentials 2 tutorial, result.. not too bad for my first attempt, i do find the best output is M2v (mpeg2) as adobe premiere pro cs4, dosent like mixing AVCHD footage with Quicktime footage..it seems to cause synch issues, and i use premiere pro cs4 as my editing suite, then adobe encore cs4 to burn to disc.
