the ISO is basically the sensor's sensibility to light. The higher the ISO, the bigger the little dots (pixels) get on the sensor, allowing for the picture to look brighter even though there's not much light at all in the room/enviroment you are shooting in. You'll find yourself changing the ISO depending on the amount of available light that the enviroment you are at offers you. The only downside? to higher ISO numbers is that it lowers the quality of the image.

Probably not 2-3 years, its been out for 3 years now so there will be something new soon. But you have to ask yourself if its worth the wait and the high price when launched. What will the new model offer? More pixels (18 should be enough though), more? AF-points, dual card slot, better audio support while filming, thats about it. I'll get a barely used (6 months) next week. 300 euros off the retail price. Im sure i wont regret that even when a new model comes out.

It shoots a maximum of 29:59 (29 minutes, 59 seconds). Once you reach that time, if you're watching the camera close,? you'll probably lose a maximum of about 3 seconds. Honestly, not bad at all. Make sure you have plenty of memory if you're shooting HD! You'll need almost 256gb of memory for 5 hours...

What? do you think I should get? The 60d or 7d? I only am only going to use it for video (with the occasional photo, once every couple months..) but I am going to film action scenes, I'm editing them with after effects... I'm not sure which one I should get.. It looks like the 60d has better quality but they have the same MP. Really hard to consider.. I am also considering the 5d mark ii.

Respect the 90deg shutter phase to get cinema look (ie, in 24fps, 1/48 or 1/50 on the 60D). Longer exposure will give you more light but might generate streaking and awkward results. I agree. The 7D also has better viewfinder coverage, but for someone starting out that isn't a big deal. One of the big buying factors, is actually the flip out LCD screen, IF you want to go for video. Although? the 7D is more rugged with its body, it does overheat quite quickly when filming, similar to the 5D. If you're interested in any long-take filming, the 60D is the way to go, because being able to move the screen away keeps the heat down. For short-takes, the full-frame 5D takes the cake.

The T3i comes with an 18-55mm lens, whereas the 60D's kit lens is a 18-135mm. If you plan on getting into photography, It's always good to invest in a better body. "Nice lens" could mean Canon's professional L series, which is upwards of $700 to thousands of dollars per lens. Whichever you get, a good lens to get is a? 50mm f1.8. They're mostly plastic, but they're only $130, and great for portrait shots. With lenses, it really depends on what you're going to be taking pictures of.

Have you done photography before? If you're upgrading from a point and shoot I wouldn't recommend it. There's no point in going all out, if you don't know why you're spending that much. I would highly recommend a Canon Rebel, either the T2i or the T3i. These are? about $700-$1000 depending on where you live. The other option is the Canon Rebel T3 for around $500. These are great if you're starting out, but the 60D is a bit expensive although it is a good investment if you plan on getting into it.

If you want to show on a large screen, I would definitely get a GH2. If you really like to get a 60D, get a 550D instead. Their video abilities are almost the same with magic lantern. However, I would never use canon or nikon or sony DSLRs in the similar price range for making film unless when i need really shallow depth of? field.

Even 5d mark ii's 1080p looks like 720p of GH2 Also, I have used both for videography and only the better thing 60D has is depth of? field and still image stuff. GH2 has way better convenience in video shooting-for example, it can shoot as long as battery dies. So if you shoot video a lot like more than stills, GH2 is the answer. So if I got the 600D and took pictures, it could be blurry? (I have shaky hands, too) And also, does it? come with flash? Sorry for my lack of camera knowlede, but what is incremental ISO adjustments and higher shutter speeds? Can you explain in easy words? Haha. So overal, would the price of the 60D be worth it? 1 more question! I like to take pictures, flash pictures, take alot of videos and even edit them. Which one do you think I would enjoy better? i can only talk for myself..just got one video with the 60D at this time..but import the video in After Effects and render it with the H.264 output setting and a max bitrate at? 40mbps..thats how i did and i didnt loose? that much quality

great video..this was one of the videos at youtube that got me? to buy the 60D..but now i need a 30mm f1.4L Lens ! :)..damn those procuce a crisp picture..how is this lens when you filming and move the camera?..lots of shaking?..the lens has no IS so thats why i wonder..more videos with this Lens please! :)

I'm looking at buying a camera mainly? to use the video recording feature because i want to get in to making short films and that kind of stuff but I'm not sure which to get I've look at both Canon 600D and Canon 60D the one feature that i really like is the screen on these cameras because you can move them around to achieve greater angles. Hi.. do u know how to get EXTENDABLE ISO on the CANON 60D as? the basic is only 100-6400 but it expands to 12,800... i am not able to get that option with the menu settings... how are u able to get that ISO 12,800?????

You are a fail. It's not all about the resolution. If you aren't watch the video in full-screen it's perfect to watch, even in wide-screen. Camera's has also features like colorful and bright images, focus and not these blurry grey? images you get from f.ex. mobile phones.
