The company happened to be absorbed at the time by an American entrepreneur, but that doesn't make the ships any less British than Fish & Chips. The IMMC was dissolved later on anyway and Cunard Line acquired the business. Great video! Brings back memories. I remember flying Transaer on a charter from Stuttgart to? Lamezia Terme back in the late 90s. The flight was half a day late and the A300 was falling apart on the inside with light bulbs and tray tables broken, but the crew was one of the friendliest I ever experienced. They were so warm and apologetic for the inconveniences. Sadly, a short time later, Transaer went bust :(
