interesting. thank you for? your information

Try and do as many full pull-ups you can throughout the day. Its called greasing the groove. Don't think? too much about it. Just make it a habit to try some pullups whenever you see a bar lying around. Like if the adverts are on and I do 10 pushups. 10 pushups are nothing, but if i watch 10 adverts, thats 100 pushups spread throughout the day.
By: itzkolpi. on 21 May 12, 08:27:14
hmm interesting, i can do about 5 of them. how much of them should i be doing a day to be considered an actually "pull up" workout. and building muscle is? weights and eating more?
By: TheMythTheMagic. on 20 May 12, 22:51:39
If you want to get good at chin ups. Unless you're overweight Just keep trying them. If you want to build muscle that's a different story. But as far as chin ups are concerned. Have fun with them. Grab a chin up bar and put it in random doorways. Then whenever you walk through the doorway, grab onto the bar and try? some. When your watching tv and an advert comes on just try a few chin ups. If you can't do 1. Just jump to the top of the bar and slowly lower yourself. If your heavy, get back to me
By: VYD239. on 15 May 12, 12:40:49
You can do a full body workout 3 times a week, that will get you fit, but the progress for individual muscles will be slower, as you are having to use energy for your whole body. Example - the other day I did some leg extensions for my quads, then after I decided to do some chin ups - as? quads use lots more energy, I had very little left for my biceps, and I couldn't make any decent progress with my chin ups. Therefore, attempting them at all was counter-productive.
By: itzkolpi. on 15 May 12, 11:26:48
hmmmm interesting, so i should i be doing certain muscles different days. and is sharing the energy around my whole body a bad thing? is working different muscles and letting other ones a rest a better option? sorry if i'm annoying but i have? little knowledge
By: VYD239. on 15 May 12, 10:57:12
Plus, it is ok to workout everything, but if you do, you are having to share your energy around your whole body. For me, I find it better to work my triceps and chest one day, my quads and shoulders two days later, then my biceps and? calves after that. Mix it up, work hard, dont get caught up in numbers, do what you feel but do it well. Also, I only work out for 45 mins - after 45 mins of physical effort, most people begin to produce cortisol, which is your body's natural stress hormone
By: VYD239. on 15 May 12, 10:53:41
There's so many ways to approach exercise. The best & most simple way is to do what you FEEL like doing - however, it is common sense to not work out the same muscles two days in a row. For example, I will go to the gym today and workout my chest and triceps. I will work out hard but not focus? on how many reps or sets at all. I will just do my very best and not get caught up in counting numbers. For a begginer, it is best to do body weight exercises like chin ups and press ups and squats.

ok, what im doing atm (don't really know what im doing) is i workout for about like 2 hours, i pretty much do 2 sets of 15 on each exercise; so? i pretty much try train everything in 1 workout (is that wrong?) and when i do 1 set of 15 i go to chin up bar or w/e u wanna call it and do 5 pull ups then i go back and do last set. then i'll move on to the next exercise. i can't really say my muscles are sore after my exercise, matter fact they feel fine. and i drink milk and have tuna after.
By: VYD239. on 15 May 12, 10:00:54
With any exercise, you need to rest so your muscles repair. It also depends on how you are naturally built. See how you feel, but the most general idea is to exercise every other day. There is no point in exercising the same muscle every day as there would not be enough recovery time. You need to work your muslces enough that they are slightly sore - that? is a good way to tell you have worked them enough. Drink something sugary like a fruit drink or chocolate shake straight after to recover.
By: itzkolpi. on 15 May 12, 09:23:42
how long should i be doing this? a day?
By: VYD239. on 14 May 12, 10:02:54
Last of all, don't worry about sets and reps at this stage - just do what you can, but put 100% effort into doing it. As I have? got older, I realise it is better to do as many reps as you can with good/perfect form, even if the last one is awful/ a failure. If you do want to do sets, remember this - heavy weights/low reps (5-8 maybe) require a longer rest period (3 mins between sets). Lighter weights/high reps (12-15 or more) require less rest (1m 30 secs is a good time to go for).
By: VYD239. on 14 May 12, 09:58:25
Also, if you are finding full pull ups hard, try using a bar that is set low down, and try 'incline' pull ups. This is where your body is at an angle and you are only really lifting? your upper body, as your legs are being supported by the floor. You can use this exercise to build up strength to be able to do full pull ups if they are difficult. Good luck :)
By: VYD239. on 14 May 12, 09:56:27
Try and do as many as you can! As long as each one is performed correctly with perfect (or at least very strict) form. This means focussing on lifting your body up to the bar using your arms and back/lats only, without swinging your legs or torso to gain momentum - that is cheating and will not strengthen your arms/back etc. It doesn't matter if you can only do one, two, or three - I can only do 15 maximum and that has taken me 5 years - my arms are long and I? have heavy muscular legs to lift!

By: VYD239. on 20 Mar 12, 21:15:13
Progress steadily - if you try and do more than you can but? fail on the last one, you will effectively be teaching your muscle to fail, as it has memory. Training to failure is ok if you are an experienced lifter/athlete, but if you're young and starting out, it's not a good idea. Stick with it, just add one each time - take it steady, and focus on the specific muscles you're trying to train during ANY exercise, and you'll know when to stop or carry on to avoid failing. Good luck.
By: VYD239. on 20 Mar 12, 21:09:40
Do as many as you can with correct form - don't cheat AT ALL. Lets assume you can only do 3. Don't attempt a fourth if you can only go half or quarter of the way. Just wait about 15-20 seconds, and? you'll be able to do another 1, or maybe another two or three. Then rest. Either wait a day or two, and do the same, only this time, you'll find you'll be able to do 4, possibly 5 in one go. Dont eat junk, drink water, not sodas, eat lots of veg and lean meats. Avoid white carbs.

"epic? 2? second pause at 1:05" I already had to laugh at 0:59 - But after watching the 1:05 pause a few times I barely could hold myself on the chair. So amazing... I think we all know the cliches about Bodybuilders and brains. Myself (as a fitness freak) I always thought "no, you can have both" - I guess this guy tries to prove me wrong :-D
By: jajajah86. on 27 Jan 12, 09:41:39
Thanks man. The other day I did fewer reps and it didn't hurt. I think bouldering caused the pain. When you hang your bodyweight on? one hand for some second and you have momentum too it can be de manding for your joints, bones, muscles, etc. Before the age of 8 I broke my arms 3x. The pain didn't come from those areas that fractured...Now I do more reps but I'm okay. It could have been my tendons/muscley as you said. Anyway, thanks for replying... Cheers
