3 hours is way too long unless you are on steroids lil. You should stay between 45 minutes to an hour and a half (that's including the warm up, the working sets, the rest and the cooldown and it dépends what muscles u work). If you want a 2 day split, meaning? you work the whole body in 2 days, preferably an upper and lower body day. Focus on compound movements and dont bother hitting forearms, theyll grow without working them directly.

i stay at the gym for like 3hours, hitting chest, shoulders, triceps, squats, forarms, one day? and then the next day ill do back, like deadlifts, pullups, lil bit of abs, biceps, and i train for like 2 thru 3 hours, is that bad? im only 20 bouta be 21. looking to built muscle mass.

no haha, did you hear what they said in the vid? lift weights about 4 times a week, each time? hitting different muscle groups and leave around 5 to 6 days until you hit that same muscle group again :)

I think that if it's working for you stick with it. but a 3 day split might be better. Monday legs Tuesday off Wednesday Chest,Triceps,Shoulders. Thursday off , Friday Back and Biceps and Saturday Sunday off or cardio. Do? your compound movements and eat properly :P its really simple

I just started training, and had a instructor make me a "beginner" program, and I now train? 2-2,5 hours every two days, weekends off, (Monday-Wednsday-Friday) I do my whole body each time, (legs, bi-triceps, shoulders, chest, abs, upper and lower back), I have never really trained before, and I'm not looking to become a professional bodybuilder, but i am looking to get a little fitter, should I stick with it, or should I change it up?

9-12 sets are ideal anymore and you just stress your body these guys advice is pretty spot on for the average guy trying to gain muscle and stregnth escpecally with the compound movment part ie deadlifts squats pull ups chin ups millatary press standing not? sitting dumbell benchpress barbell bench press all of these are mass building exercises that put alot of stress on your body if anything its the exact oppsite of being lazy when your bodys the judge .

today i did deadlifts, military presses, bent over rows, squats.. 3 sets each 8-10 reps each..12 sets total.. my workout only lasted 30 minutes.. to get to 45 minutes am i supposed to take a couple breaks to jerk off?? I'll take your advice because i want some gains goddam it!... but it doesn't seem like enough!? 9-12 total sets seems very lazy and counter intuitive to me! has anyone tried this 9 total set routine and failed at getting gains?

I agree with this and I've said this all along to people, still I find isolation exercises really useful and they will get you gains. For example bench press dont give enough stress for the outer parts of triceps. I've had experience with this and isolation exercises have done the trick for me. So I'd say, compound exercises are the base of good workout and a few isolation exercises can be included to hit the parts that the compound? exercises couldn't reach at.
