please help, after months of sit ups and crunches, when i lay down i see my abbs its just not showing while standing or just shirt off, is it how i eat, or i just need alot more of doing exercises, i fell my six pack and? i see it while laying down, i just need to know how to show them

The part that always hangs me up is the short breaks. I watch others at the gym do this with no issue but maybe I'm the only one really working myself to full muscle failure? I doubt that, but at any rate, sometimes even after a 60 sec break? I'm still pretty dead. Also, I'm an ex-Army Ranger so I am not just tired and don't want to push it, I just physically am unable. It seems like those that say they're going to muscle failure really aren't. Or bounce back much faster than I can lately.

You don't need to do 500 crunches a? day bcause the main problem with people is that they over work their abs... You need to do intense ab workouts but only about 3 or 4 times a week max

You can't spot workout the abdominals they work as a whole. The crunches work all the the entire abdominals. Just because you only feel the "burn" on the top? people only think you are working the "upper abs"

straightening the legs contracts the muscles a bit more. and slowing the reps, as long as you are going against resistence makes things a lot tougher. next time you are trying shoulder flys go 5 pounds? less wait but count to 5 from the top of the stretch back down.. then on your last rep hold it at the peak as long as you can without injuring yourself of course.
