umm wrong. getting huge whether on roids or not? is dependent upon the way you train whether for hypertrophy or strength. Oly lifters tend to not get huge because of the way they train. Many oly lifters have taken steroids and some still do, and if you're judging based on just size you'll be mistaken.

his form is decent for somebody who doesn't do solely Olifting iow not a specialist. most coaches in Olifting realize you do NOT pull the bar up with your traps. you use the traps to assist pulling you under the bar. watch slo-mo of elite lifters and you see that. and it's technically NOT a? jump. jump is from the front of the feet. the hip extension in the clean and the snatch are both from more of the mid foot. many elite lifters don't even rise on the toes at all. good vid though

In order for a federation to send representatives to world standard competitions by the IWF, they must come under the same WADA restrictions as the international competitions do, in and out of competition. This is what is on paper.. if things are enforced? in clear view of everyone, is a different story! I don't like talk of drugs in every WL video, because it takes away the DECADES of training these guys go through to get to that level. Drugs are maybe 5-10% of their performance, at most.

At powerlifting sites the crowd jeers overhead lifters, at overhead lifting sites the power lifters are hooted down (somewhat). Unassisted bench presses, there's no? objection, gear assisted lifts are hokey, no gear assisted lifts in overhead lifting. Squat with bar behind neck also OK, but the lift is badly cheapened by placing bar way down back, slanted torso, shallow depth. In a squat larger weights don't justify trashing form & lifters who use less but do it right, end up stronger.

Congrats? Alot of olympic lifters still squat more than some powerlifters and do it RAW. Granted, some powerlifters (world class) will have a bigger squat. what I was saying is that powerlifters could squat with just as much speed and acceleration at the same percentages of your one rep max than a olympic lifter could snatch and jerk. powerlifters compete at 100% or their one rep max while olympic lifters do not. if olympic lifters did this, they could not move the bar at that speed. why would a powerlifter compete in the olympics? these are NOT the most prestigious powerlifting meets. that would be like asking why bodybuilders dont compete in the olympics.? Why do you get in technical details? and try to draw conclusions from somebody's doing good mornings. If they could clean / jerk / snatch comparable weights we'd see the in the Olympics - those are the most prestigious games. Compare the actual weights they can snatch / jerk.

It is impossible to recruit all myofibrils and motor units even though you are moving 90% of your one rep max at a fast rate. but powerlifter train from 90-105% every week in max effort. they may do 12 sets? of their one rep max. A powerlifting training will recruit more motor units than olympic training although the to are similar. Olympic lifters claim to fame is superior coordination, balance and rotator cuff integrity. Powerlifters claim to fame is pure strength in terms of maximum weight.

I am talking about Westside barbell powerlifters who regularly clean in their? workouts. they have both strength and force development. they also do high pulls which is a similar exercise. since powerlifters also do good mornings they lowerbody strength is easily as high as olympic. I don´t know if every pro is using doping and to what extend, but i´m pretty sure the vast majority of top athletes is, at least in sports like weightlifting. I can´t give you "hard facts", just personal opinion and experience. You have to build your own opinion, based on your own experience and believes. I just hate it when people degrade amazing athletes to nothing but a "f***** cheater", just because he juiced to reach those 10% more, necessary to do what his people demand from him.?

Today´s sport IS cleaner, just not clean (or even close): Back then they didn´t care much about testing at all, because the majority of puplic didn´t know or care about doping. Today there is much more pressure to keep it? clean. They could take more drugs and much more careless. Science did improve, but most drugs are still working on the same basics (testo, HGH, EPO). Modern drugs are mostly modified/ optimized derivates, so they are harder to detect and do less harm to the body.

I think everyone's still missing the point. Who cares if it's "part of competition"? Just like I stated above, if you abide by the rules, that's fair game.? If you don't abide by the rules, it's illegal and unfair, regardless if you get caught. Just because the competition is full of cheaters who haven't been caught doesn't mean a competitor should do the same just to keep up; that's an ethical decision every competitor has to make. I used to do natural GHRs until they messed up my knee. I never do or recommend them to anybody since then. When you do them on the floor (on top of a few aerobic mats/whatever) the knee cap if trapped between your actual leg? and the floor and can't move from there (while you're moving). That's a no-no as far as I'm concerned.

no worries coach :) I havn't done all 3 to really conclusively say it works. However I love the idea, I usually do FS & RDL for assistance, however I find the BS helps so much with confidence and the pull and even drive on the jerk so I haven't ditched it completely. I find though with FS I can do it way more frequently as it doesn't tax me that much or drain my CNS. I wonder if Hip Thrusts would be good as a BS assistance for low bar? squatting. Thanks again love the club!

I weigh 220 lbs, then I got sick and lost 40 lbs. Then the doc told me that I had been? fighting a weird form of strep for almost a year, so they fill me with antibiotics. She told me that when I was all better I would have more energy and be stronger than I thought I was. Now I'm 187 lbs and can clean 30 lbs more than my old max 8 times. One of the problems is that unlike with powerlifting, you really need the "bumper" plates or a specialized reinforced platform to do this style of lifting; and enough space--hard to come by even in top spas or health clubs which are always cramming as much equipment as possible into? the facility. Also, I think you need to at least take a few instruction classes with a coach to get the form right. I am sorry they eliminated the press from competition.

I agree aks73. The only problem is, unless the gym caters for olmypic weightlifting, it is hard to do. The gym i went to was too small and didn't provide rubber plates, so i had to buy my own equipment and do it at home.?

I have no? personal opinion, however; many people know believe that the second pull should not be perfectly straight. This might be what rednatsb is getting at, albeit in a belligerant manner. If you watch many chinese lifters, the second pull is a curved motion because (again not an expert) the body can create more torque with the hips that legs.
