As for the impeachment... The house has to pass it by a simple majority to start? the process. The Republicans have enough votes for that. But the President would be tried by the Senate, and requires a 2/3 vote to convict. Since the Democrats have the majority there, they would never get him out. Their best hope is that he loses in Nov. If not, hope to get a majority in the Senate to impeach later. If they try and fail now, double jeopardy would prevent the attempt later if needed.

A few things were fictionalized. It showed more people killed at the airstrip than actually were, and only one of the deaths was a defector. The couple shot at the end is based on a real couple that survived. At camp, the gun was found some distance from Jones, and it's thought that someone? else shot him. No one knows how many adults were murdered (injected or forced to drink), but very few (if any) were shot. Few autopsies were done, and fewer than 10 got out alive, so we'll never know.
